Douty writes more for those whose messiness us related to overly busy lives rather than for people who find themselves in messy or difficult life circumstances. Yet Chapter 5, "Praying with the Silence" and Chapter 6, "Praying with the Surroundings" are quite applicable in either case. Chapter 5 is particularly well developed and well written.
The author offers a great many windows for the reader to open toward developing or renewing a relationship with God through prayer. She asks excellent reflection questions at the end of each chapter which are very thought-provoking.
This book will be a warm welcome to those seeking simple yet profound ways to jump start their prayer life and relationship with God amid the busyness of life.Upper Room Reviews has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book.
